Outsole

There is a new sole for the latest Beast. It comes with HPR Plus rubber in the heel area which recommends it for added durability. With a 12mm drop, the shoes are representative of what support can really look like. Even with this higher platform, the most important aspect is to actually ensure your feet are in the right position.

The HPR Green part of the outsole is also an indication of what the manufacturer can offer. For many users, it represents a great choice when it comes to recycling as all its materials are actually recycled.

The forefoot part of the outsole also represents an interesting upgrade. It comes with softer materials such as the Flextra rubber. As you can expect, this material is used for added flexibility in this crucial area.

Midsole

The key to the success of the shoes lies in the midsole. It is here that the manufacturer added the Progressive Diagonal bar for the entire length of the shoe. Based on BioMoGo cushioning, this bar stabilizes the arch, correcting severe overpronation.

But the innovation does not end here. It is actually great to see the added Caterpillar Crash Pad which has an important role in smoothening the transition from the heel to the toe. It also has a stabilizing purpose.

DRB Accel polyurethane is also added to provide better stability in the midfoot. It can also prove to be one of the technologies which help the midsole with torsion forces. It goes to show the lengths Brooks is willing to go with these types of corrective designs.

Upper

The mesh upper is one of the greatest additions to the shoes. Maintaining the same breathable profile, the shoes are among the leading choices when it comes to the good comfort. With the padded and stretchy collar, they go further by proving a smoother experience than the average alternative.

Updates

With improved aesthetics and performance, the Brooks Beast 18 is a worthy upgrade for all users. The shoes are made to support severe overpronation. But even in these conditions, the manufacturer doesn’t let the shoes fall short in the other essential compartments.

All the major aspects of the shoes have been considerably improved. Even the upper is more comfortable. But the most changes are made to the midsole which is now able to tackle overpronation with added confidence.

Size And Fit

The shoes are true to size. But since their role is corrective, you will have to find the exact size which suits your type of foot. The good news is that Brooks has options for all types of feet.

With plenty of cushioning and flexibility in the forefoot, the shoes can be used on various surfaces. You can run in the park or simply out on the streets without having to worry about comfort. With a full-length rubber outsole with an aggressive design, you can enjoy one of the best solutions when it comes to the ultimate grip, even on grass. With an included segmented crash pad, there is also less pressure transmitted on your joints than with similar Brooks shoes. It also means that the overall flexibility is above expectations.

As a motion control shoe, the Beast 18 are super stable. As an upgrade from the Beast 16, they can meet the needs of most runners. The shoes come with a new heel counter for added stability. It is why they can also feel a bit more secure. With materials which include mesh with perforations, the shoes are also recommended for all-day comfort if you decide to wear them as casual shoes as well. Runners who like the roomier designs will also feel comfortable with the shoes. However, you might need to go half a size down if you are looking for that ultimate fit.
