The outsole of the running shoes has kept most of the design and technology from the Duramo 8. However, the flexibility has been improved with two groves, one in the forefoot and the other one on the heel area. The same AdiWear durable rubber has been used for the outsole. It works great on the track or in the gym. In some cases, the shoes can also be used on flat trails as well. But with proper traction and a webbed design, the outsole remains sturdy and reliable for short and long running sessions.

Featuring the improved Cloadfoam midsole, the shoes are now at the peak of their comfort on an evolutionary scale. Many runners also argue that they do not need a sockliner on top of the Cloadfoam as it already feels quite comfortable. Since it naturally follows the contour of the foot, Cloudfoam is also recommended for improved arch support.

The upper is breathable but durable. With dual-layer mesh materials, it provides a versatility which sees the shoes as an option for the occasional user running up to 3 miles or for the seasoned user running beyond the 10-mile mark. With the help of the mesh tongue, the upper also maintains its low weight profile which is a determining factor for everyday running. The lacing of the shoes is based on a reinforced section of the midfoot and it represents a clear signal that the shoes are aimed at maximizing durability.

If you need reliable shoes, the 9th version of the Duramo can be the option for you, especially if you are a fan of mesh uppers. With added durability and caged lacing, the shoes are recommended to those seeking the ultimate lockdown even with a softer upper such as the one made from mesh materials.

When it comes to upgrades, the most significant changes have been made to the upper. But at the same time, even the outsole has been improved to improve flexibility. The midsole is where most of the updates impress runners. Based on the new Cloafoam design, the shoes work well for added support. Together with the added AdiWear technology, it ensures that runners are able to use the shoes even when they want to reach the highest speeds. They are a good solution for the runners who already own the Duramo 8 as a result.

Size And Fit

The shoes are available in sizes for both men and women. They fit well for most people. If you are one of the runners with narrow feet, you might want to look at going half a size down for the ultimate fit without the fear of slipping inside the shoes.

The shoes look apart from the start. They come with the 3 stripes design which is instantly recognizable but most importantly, they have a good fit. There is plenty of cushioning and padding for proper comfort, although a bit more room in the forefoot would have made an impact as well. The soft materials of the insole also feel great on the feet. There is no irritation on the skin even after running for an hour which makes them a good choice for the dedicated runners or those who like to run longer a few times per week.

Built for the neutral runner, the shoes come with breathable mesh materials. They are recommended for the hot summer days, although the mesh materials also work great when it comes to quick drying after running in the rain. The insole of the shoes feels very soft as well. It is why some runners might also feel the shoes are a great solution to consider when it comes to casual wear. The shoes might not be as flexible in the midfoot as expected as they come with thick foam support, but the extra comfort might be worth it if you plan to run for miles and miles.
